Anyway, you know they do say that you could travel the world through food. Nothing gives you more of an experience of the culture than the things people eat.
That's true! You can learn a lot about a place from the sort of food they eat! Like in Japan, since we're an island country a bunch of our dishes have fish in them.
[She looks back up at the stars.] I wonder what sort of food they have here. You think it'll be a lot different from back on Earth?
I'm betting they won't have the burgers and fries that we're used to. [ He's speaking for his own culture's food here, before he adds: ] Or the sushi and ramen either.
[ He finishes up the bowl he'd been offered now that it's gotten a bit on the cold side. It's definitely no burger. ]
There's no telling what kind of food they have here, not without spending some time here. Luckily we've got plenty of that to come.
I wondered the same thing. Whether we could go back.
[ Steve mentioned it once, but he was given to believe that this was a more permanent arrangement, a one-way trip. You could travel away from the Storm, but there wasn't really a way to travel back into it.
He's not sure he's ready to accept that - but it's hard not to try and be a little realistic too. ]
But I'm not sure there'll be a back to return to.
And I'm not sure what the Storm is either, whether it's something we can fight or not.
[ Steve hums a sound of agreement. He'd heard something similar too, and imagine his frustration knowing it's not something he can rightfully defeat the way he's used to. ]
Your guess is as good as mine. But you know what, I agree - there's a reason we're here and whatever that reason is, it should mean something. It should count for something.
