[ The other First Waver doesn't even take a moment to catch his breath, once all the pods have safely landed. He's already checking in on the people trapped inside, and 76 feels the push to do the same, if only to prove to himself that he can keep up with the much younger man.
He approaches the pod closest to him, and he can hear frantic banging from the inside. A lot of the doors have gotten dented to the point that they're impossible to open by the time that they land, which is why it's good that there are people like him around who can wrench them off with brute force.
He gets the person out, reminds them to grab their supply bag, and before long all three of them have been sent on their way.
Finally having a moment, 76 goes to lean himself up against a nearby tree and lets out a breath that mists hot against the inside of his visor. He's been forced to wear it all day, and he probably won't get to take it off until he's in a tent and everyone's settled down to rest.
He eyes the other man from across the clearing where the ripped parachute and abandoned pods still lay. ] Not bad.
[ Steve offers the man a smile, tired but genuine enough. That delay in catching his breath finally - well, catches up to him. And when he comes over, it's to join his companion.
They did good, all things considered. The parachutes can't be reused but they did the job and the pods hurtling towards them landed safely enough, their passengers all in one piece. He watches them head off to join the others at the designated campsite, glad for the small moment of calm. ]
[ While it would make sense for them to take a rest by the campsite as well, 76 needs a moment to unwind and let some of the adrenaline fade away. It's been constant all day, ever since they landed, but the sky is starting to look pretty clear.
He nods at the question, stretching his arms to either side to crack bones and work some of the tenseness out of his muscles. ]
Wonder if that's the last of them.
[ 76 takes a moment to look the other man over now that they're not in the middle of a crisis. ]
[ Right on time, too. Steve, like 76, needs a moment to catch his breath and stretch his muscles. Catching heavy metal pods for hours on end isn't exactly his idea of the best workout and he's feeling the strain of it.
He nods in 76's direction. ]
Steve Rogers. [ No need for the extra titles, fancy or otherwise, here. ] And you?
[ They're built hard for a reason, though, aren't they? 76 can feel the aches and pains right now, but he knows that by this time tomorrow he'll be mostly recovered.
Steve Rogers. It's a normal enough name, which is kind of nice after some of the things he's heard and seen today. Vampires, girls with weird beings they can summon... yeah.
"Jack Morrison" would be a similarly mundane name, but it's not the one he offers. ]
76.
[ It's the number on the back of his jacket. Yep, that's all he's got. ]
[ Steve's definitely met his fair share of unique individuals, but he's certainly not all as normal as 76 might assume. At least not when you get to know the guy.
You don't end up on the First Wave for being totally normal. ]
Seventy-six?
[ Did he hear that correctly?
Well. Far be it from him to judge. ]
All right. Well, good to meet you. Something tells me this isn't your first time dealing with a crazy situation like this.

He makes a few more stretches with his arms to work some of the kinks out, then lets them fall to his sides. ]
Maybe not exactly like this, but yeah, wouldn't say it was my first crisis.
[ There's a joke there, one only he can really enjoy. Not that he seems to be enjoying much of anything right now.
He inclines his head toward Steve. ] You?
